does anyone know what this is?

Hi all - still looking for clues about this strange rash that has now happened 4 times.

I have inflammatory arthritis and have posted there, and also posted on the Vasculitis group as this was offered as a possible cause. I also have Raynaud's and take hydroxychloroquine.

Recently I have been very iron deficient, extremely high haemoglobin (normal now) and have antibeta2 antobodies (at risk of clots).

I regularly get bruises in odd places, some with lumps in the middle and I've had similar rashes which are more like red bruises under the skin , in other places too like the side of my neck. I've been referred by rheumatology to haemotology.

My father (CLL with Richter's Transformation) and my grandmother (his mother) (Polycthemia and then AML) both had blood cancers so there is a strong family history.

Sorry that you are worrying. Please do make an appointment / check when your next appointment is with your HCP / Dr. No one can diagnose you on line and it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Leukaemia spots / rash are always peticheal (ie, they do not blanche when pushed - they stay pink / purple if you roll a glass over them) which *may* be something you can check at home, but there are also many other reasons for such a rash, so, always worth getting checked out.

Thank you for this - yes I have checked and they don't blanche. Some of my bruises are round (size of 5p piece) and in od places. Sometimes they look like regular bruises, much bigger and have appeared all over my legs.

Does the rash itch or is it only red?

Hi - where it was worse it felt a bit warm, but didn't itch.

Some of us with CLL on this forum get a similar rash, but ONLY after strong exercise.

Then the rash appears on the legs, and it fades away after 48 hours.

The dermatologist said it was a form of Vasculitis, and there are numerous varieties of Vasculitis and most of them are harmless.

Thank you for the info. Hearing that I think I can stop obsessing now and just wait for my appointment.

Sorry Brychni , good luck with the medical professionals, I trust that you don't get pushed from pillar to post. With absolutely no medical knowledge it looks like my husbands rheumatoid arthritis rash which he gets more in the cold weather. Look after yourself.
