We've teamed up with the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) acas.org.uk/disability-at-work this is a timely webinar that you may find of help to gain understanding and access to appropriate information and guidance to help mitigate issues that may arise as the furlough period ends or when discussing your needs with your employer.

The aim of this webinar is to explore employment related topics to inform of rights and guidance in relation to a blood cancer diagnosis, in both COVID times and in usual times.

Topics aimed to be covered:

Talking to an employer

Discrimination and the disability act

Reasonable adjustments to working practices

Wage entitlements, adjustments and statutory allowances

Conflict resolution

Rights at different stages of your journey – acutely ill vs. living with long term

Redundancy rights

We will be joined by:

Simon Allen, ACAS, Senior Advisor

Simon Allen is a Senior Advisor and Collective Conciliator for ACAS in the East Midlands with responsibility for the Leicestershire region. He has close personal interest in Mental Health issues in the workplace, Neurodiversity and Change Management. He currently chairs the ACAS East Midlands Employment relations Forum. Prior to being with ACAS, Simon spent 17 years at DWP, 10 of which involved managing teams and Job Centres as well as Outreach staff in Children Centres in deprived wards. He is very familiar with HR issues, but his real interest is in staff engagement and development; often through increasing staff involvement in change projects.
