Our latest Leukaemia Chatters podcast is now live!

Interesting we recorded this before the COVID-19 outbreak that has changed how we live together at the moment.

In this podcast, we spoke about social media and how it can be a source of support for patients. Interesting to reflect on the pros and cons as we rely on digital connection for most human interaction at this moment..

Gosh, you have really got me thinking. I am aware in isolation that the TV is often on far more than it would have been before. I was just going to turn on my favourite music before reading this and now I can hear 'virus question time' and I can feel it is raising my anxiety levels. However setting up groups with friends and the Leukaemia Care facebook site I find so, so supportive. What does worry me is that we are the lucky ones in so many ways. Some elderly with Leukaemia might have no internet access, family, friends, financial support and there only source of information is the continual TV coverage. A doctor has just said that category should go to their supermarket at it's quiet time to keep 2 metres apart. I do not know how practical that is? You can tell the TV is getting to me, perhaps I should be doing the housework instead !! Stay say and thanks for this.
