First six weeks on Ibutrinib

β€’4 Replies

Hi

My second post.

Started with Ibutrinib six weeks ago due to inguinal lymphomas and WBC of 15,000.

Few side effects so far. I feel that lymphomas are now smaller as I can no longer feel them (though they are buried deep in the abdomen).

WBC 23,000 after two weeks and now at 30,000

Specialist says this is to be expected and WBC levels should start to reduce over the next few months

Next blood tests in a further six weeks

Feeling good about this situation πŸ˜€

Hi, thanks for telling us what is going on for you. However I think it is always a scaring time when you enter the unknown. I also think it is a very wearing process emotionally, physically and practically, take lots of care of yourself. I am glad you are feeling good about the situation. Don't forget if you need to talk to someone the Leukaemia Care Charity helpline is open Monday - Friday 9am until 5pm and they have a special evening service on a Thursday and Friday 7pm - 10pm. The number is freephone 08088 010 444 and we are all here for you. Take lots of care.

Hi Alfaman

Thanks for updating us with your news. It is very difficult taking those first steps not knowing what to expect as the treatment starts. Great to read you are responding to treatment and feeling good .

It is quite a remarkable feeling how lumps you could feel in lymph nodes seem to just melt away isnt it. Long may this continue and deep nodes clear with the blood in time.

Great to read good news
