If you live in the UK and have been diagnosed with CLL or are a carer (family member) you can now get support by talking with a CLL buddy. The 12 month pilot scheme launched by CLLSA and Leukaemia Care is now live..
A buddy is someone with the same diagnosis who has experience and understanding of living with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia.
Buddies are trained to support you emotionally and are CLL patients themselves.
Buddies will support you by phone and/or email for approximately 2-4 hours a month on a mutually agreed day and time.
A designated Buddy Co-ordinator will review your situation regularly and check you are happy with the support you are receiving from your buddy.
If you would like further information and to talk to a buddy please call Kay Drew, Buddy Co-ordinator, Kay Drew at support@leukaemiacare.org.uk or call 01905 755 977.
