ALL side effects

I'm new here. My husband has AML and is on chemo plus trial. He is in remission but chemo has caused severe postural hypotension and he has lost massive amount of weight through sickness. Has anyone else suffered with hypotension that causes black outs and recovered from it. So worried.

Sorry to hear that Hun! I get sort of blackouts when I bend down, feel like I'm going to black out but don't actually blackout, but similar though, mentioned it to my haematologist but He hasn't shown any concern about it! I hope they manage to sort something for him! Keep us posted!

I think that Chemo is quite an intensive drug with all sorts of side effects, unfortunately no one seems to advise you on what to expect. I have CLL and during my intensive treatment felt quite out of it, and resorted to Google to try and find answers. I have been in remission now for just over eighteen months and still get side effects which no one seems to know about and quite frankly don't seem all that bothered. This is a new experience for me and I would like to know what to expect. I understand that there are about 140 kinds of Leukaemia and no doubt treated with different drugs. I was on Campath and my first week of receiving it was horrendous, I blacked out, had Riggors and Hives, but all worked out fine in the end. I hope your husband soon feels better and I am sorry but I can't help you on your specific question.

I also have AML. midway through chemo , also in remission and yes weird side effects. I have had one or two blackouts but now I can anticipate and just stay sitting for longer and drink lots fluids then the vertigo passes. Also lost 10kg initially (was60kg). Weight a yo yo now but I do have one protein shake every morning which has really helped. I don't know if you can get ensure where you are.
