Thrombocytopenia, Neutropenia and left shifted myeloid

Hi

I am not even sure this is the right forum for me to post on but I am starting to get concerned about my ongoing health issues and can't seem to find any specific forums that could help me.

I have persistent Thrombocytopenia (low platelets) and Neutropenia (low white blood cells). I had a bone marrow sample taken in 2014 and was told I have predominant left shifted myeloid and megakaryoctic series.

When I research a left shifted myeloid it basically means I have immature leukocytes. I was told by the bone marrow specialist back in 2014 that my body also destroys healthy cells too quickly.

Fast forward to this year and I have persistent ongoing symptoms. I have extreme fatigue, left sided abdominal pain and swelling, blurred vision, night sweats, recurring mouth ulcers. I saw my Haematologist last week who has referred me back to the bone marrow team with a view to having a further biopsy taken.

I suppose I am looking for anyone who has similar symptoms to me and who have been given a definitive diagnosis? Obviously I am concerned that there is an underlying issue.

Thank you for your time and I am sorry if this is the incorrect forum.

Laura

Hi Laura. We have a specialist nurse on our helpline available - it might be worth chatting with her too. She works daytime 9 - 4.30 on 08088 010 444 - this number is free from any phone. We also have an evening nurse available on Wednesdays and Fridays if that helps.

Thank you for your response with the details. Have you ever heard of that bone marrow condition? I am struggling to find anything relating to it.

Hi

Thank you for your email. I think it is very important that you are reviewed by your medical team. Your symptoms can be related to your previous problems. Best to check things out.
