Lost the battle

My mum passed away on the 30th of March after a horrendous time with AML. The chemo took it toll and unfortunately did not work. Mum was diagnosed 17th Jan this year and lost her life just over 2 months in to the illness. She was 77.

It's an awful disease.

😓

So very sorry to hear that. I suppose the only consolation is she didn't suffer for a long time and she is at peace now and out of any pain or sickness.

My husband died in February and it is so hard to come to terms with. Although he had Leukaemia he was in remission. He died from a rare neurological condition which meant he lost the use of his body and that includes speech and swallowing. It was heartbreaking. I still can't believe he's not here.

Take care of yourself and remember your Mum wouldn't want you to be unhappy. She would want you to remember the good times with her. She was very lucky to have a daughter who cares as you do and I am sure she was very grateful you were there for her.

Take care.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I know how it feels to loose a mum. My mum too passed away on the 31st of match 2017, after battling AML for just 10 months. She essay one of the best hospitals in Singapore under the best care but still didn't survive. She was 70. She had a bone marrow transplant in February but her situation went downhill from there and she died of pneumonia and a severe lung infection. I was there when she passed away and seeing that moment has so far been the most painful moment in my life.

I know your pain , so if you ever need to share something I am here. I am a mother myself with kids aged 9 and 5. My 5 year old doesn't understand but my son does as he was also very close to my mother.

My dad is finding it all too much now. He's not coming to terms with it at all. My mum loved life. That's how I live mine, knowing that's what mum would have wanted. Hope you are good.

Hello, I'm so sorry for what you've been through. My Mum was diagnosed last summer, months of invasive treatment and we've just found out that it's back with a vengeance. She's 70. I'm trying to be as brave as you, thanks for sharing.
