A very warm welcome to Leukaemia CARE’s Forum – we hope you’ll feel at home here. We’ve put together a few tips to get you started and what you can expect from this groups – both from Leukaemia CARE and your fellow members.
> only pass on personal information from yourself in exceptional circumstances, for example, if we believe you or someone else is at risk of harm, or to comply with the law.
> read and reply to all posts and comments and signpost to offline support where necessary.
> encourage you to support each other – after all you know how each other are feeling. We’ll of course be on hand to answer any specific questions or chip in with relevant and useful advice.
> remove any posts which:
> are racist, homophobic, sexist or sexual in nature
> contain swearing, offensive language or are verbally abusive to others
> personally attack other members or are harassing others
> include personal details
> be able to diagnose a medical or health condition online. We will always refer you back to your GP or medical team for personalised advice and information specific to your situation.
> be able to respond to messages over night. The Support group is manned between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday – Friday.
We expect support group members to:
> ask as well as give advice – we all need support from other people from time to time
> treat other the way they wish to be treated
> respect each others privacy and keep conversations within this community
> report anything which worries or concerns you to Admins or the CARE Team at Leukaemia CARE directly
