Leflunomide
I saw my rheumatologist today and he has prescribed me
Leflunomide
to take with prednisone. I have been on a really slow taper since last July but have been up and down …currently on 4 mgs and struggling especially in the morning with all over pain and stiffness.

when to stop leflunomide
I have asked whether I could come off
leflunomide
on every occasion I have had the opportunity in the past year as I do not like the side effects. My question is when have other people come off
leflunomide
? Have they stopped
leflunomide
whilst still taking prednisolone?

Does anyone have any experience with
Leflunomide
as a steroid sparing drug as my rheumy wants me to try this after refusing methotrexate. She wants me off pred even though I am managing on a low dose of 4 1/2 so she wants to introduce
leflunomide
as a steroid sparer.

Leflunomide update
I’m one week into 10mg LEF and thought I’d just let you know I’m feeling fine with it. No nasty side effects and blood pressure “optimal” (thanks for all the recommendations for a monitor). I know it’s still early days but I was scared of taking the drug. And I’ve only had two carefully measured gins

Excessive Thirst and Leflunomide
Hi everyone Has anyone had problems with being extremely thirsty when on
Leflunomide
? I have been struggling with this for a while now and although I have T2 diabetes, it’s well controlled. The other day I wondered if it was due to the two DMARDS I’m on and it mentioned
Leflunomide
.

Leflunomide.. ?
My consultant would consider switching me to
Leflunomide
.. this would be my third DMARD in 10 months. I really can’t face another new medication - I’m sensitive to most - but any experiences (I know everyone is different) would be appreciated. Thank you

Leflunomide, Mycophenolate, Azathioprine instead of TCZ, that was the question
It seems
Leflunomide
is the only real contender. So much so that my cynical self wonders if the other two are only there to give the illusion of choice! Any more info about your experience of
Leflunomide
is very welcome.

Leflunomide - be alert!
The neurologist says this is probable toxic neuropathy secondary to
Leflunomide
(based on correlation between the onset of the problem and the time of introduction of
Leflunomide
).I am posting this to alert others to the possibility of this apparently very rare outcome should they experience tingling

Leflunomide and surgery..
I have researched myself and it does seem there is a marginal increase in wound healing specifically with
leflunomide
over other DMARDs.

Leflunomide and GCA
I have to discuss taking
leflunomide
with my rheumy team this month so I've been researching here and elsewhere. I came across this paper which I didn't find on this forum and thought others may be interested. (Of course it may have been linked before and I simply didn't find it!)

Skin sensitivity to the sun when taking methotrexate
I've just had a message from my GP practice reminding me that certain drugs including methotrexate and
leflunomide
make your skin more susceptible to damage from the sun.https://www.arthritis.org/drug-guide/medication-topics/sun-sensitivity

Leflunomide thanks
Thank you allfor replies on
Leflunomide
and peripheral neuropathy. I did look on forum but didn't find anything that seemed as alarming as I felt mine was, with the muscle wasting and skeletal hands.

Leflunomide neuropathy
Various initial tests, and I plucked up courage to mention
Leflunomide
without sounding as if I had been seeing Dr Google or was encroaching on his area of expertise.

Medic 2 - my Rheumy who I expected to press me to take
Leflunomide
to help reduce prednisolone as I’ve struggled to get below 20mg for any length of time. She listened, agreed when I said I wanted to give my system a breather from any new drug.
