I have been on methotrexate, Leflunomide, and sulfasalazine and my RA. Is still not controlled.
Has anyone else found they have fatty liver, Gp says it's all the weight I have put on since taking steroids, have been on them 18 mths and started taking Leflunomide 8mths ago, went for a ultra sound scan and found the fatty liver, had a CT scan still waiting on results, just wondered if anyone else has had this trouble, seeing Rheumy next week wonder if I should stop taking Leflunomide as after reading about the drug found it can cause fatty liver, thank you for any responses. Val
Could any one help me please, I am reducing steroids on the 1st of March dropped by half mg to 4mg, have been fine until the 15 day when all my arms, bottom, wrists, knees and shoulders are giving me some pain again, have been fine since last October when I started on Leflunomide and 5mg of steroids, when reducing can it take 15 days when reducing steroids for pain to appear, thought it would happen before then. Val x
After reducing from 20mg to 5mg of steroids over the last 8mths, told the Rheumy that I had struggled enough and couldn't stand the pain and stiffness any longer, he said he was happy for me to stay on 5mg for now and put me on Leflunomide 2weeks ago taking 10mg for the first month then 20mgs after that if liver blood tests are ok, as methertrexate pushed my liver enzymes up, my esp and CRP are quit high still, has anybody else used Leflunomide drug for PMR and if so did it reduce inflammation, thank you for any replies, Val.
What info do you think should be included in a patient information leaflet? For instance, Leflunomide ( Arava – DMARD ) has a common side effect of an upset stomach but the accompanying leaflet has no information on how one can deal with it.
