Hi all,

what i understood from some posts in this forum, i did a sample calculation to clear my doubts on this LCHF diet.

Kindly tell you opinion if the understanding is correct or not? Later after i will ask corresponding queries to get some help from you all, so that it will help me and other too.

Sample calculation : Say target for 1000 calories /day intake.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Item Serving Cal fat carbs protin Servings per day

to get 1000cal/day

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option-1idli (pieces) 1piece 40 0.19 7.89 1.91 25

pieces/day

calorie break-up (%) 4% 77% 19%

(as given in website)

actual Calorie intake @1000 cal/day 40 770 190

(break-up of 1000 Cal/day)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option-2almonds 22 pieces 180 15 6 6 132 pieces /day

calorie break-up (%) 74% 13% 13%

(as given in website)

actual Calorie intake @1000 cal/day 740 130 130

(break-up of 1000 Cal/day)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As more calories (i.e. > 70% ) are coming from Fat in Option-2, though total calories are same, Opt-2 is preferred.

So, Option - 2 is LCHF, right? anyway even if i just consider the calorie breakup % and if Fat portion is ~70% and Carb portion is ~30%, that's LCHF diet item. Is this understanding correct?
