One important piece of additional information would be to know your urine protein levels. These can be determined either by simple urinalysis or by 24 hour collection. Proteinuria frequently accompanies diabetic renal disease. It also can be successfully treated either with ACE inhibitors or ARB's, two kinds of medication that have been proven to reduce proteinuria and delay the onset of end stage renal failure. You appear to be doing everything else correctly: good blood glucose control, good blood pressure control, so the protein question and the value of possible adding an ACE inhibitor or an ARB would be worthwhile items to discuss with your physician.

Dear Sir

Thanks for your reply.

The report on Urine examination indicates as under:

Colour: Pale Yellow, Transparency: Slightly Turboid, Specific Gravity: 1.020, PH: 6.0, Protein: Trace, Glucose: Nil, Nitrite: Nil, Ketone: Nil, Urobilinogen: Normal, Bilirubin: Nil, Pus cells: 0-1/HPF, RBC's: Nil, Casts: Nil, Crystals: Nil, Bacteria: Nil, Epithelial Cells: 0-1/HPF, Others: Nil

I am 67 Years of age, weight: 72 Kg. The other parameters not indicated in KFT report above are: Serum Uric acid: 6.6, Sodium: 138, Serum calcium: 8.4.

I would discuss regading ACE inhibitor or an ARB on my next visit to Nephrologist. Regards
