Advice please

I have been feeling really happy and really low on and off everyday, half a day i'd be really happy. Next minute I feel low and feel like a failure to everyone and think negative thoughts, this has been going on for months now, I was going to go to my GP about it but I don't know what to say to them. I don't want to waste their time as well as mine. I feel depressed.

  • I am very sorry you are feeling this way. I promise more than anything if you tell your GP you won't be wasting his time. It sounds to me like a pretty common symptom doctors can help with. The best thing to do is make a note for your doctor and promise yourself you will give it to him. And the note should be basically everything you said in your post! I am not well at all and seeing a doctor as much as I dislike going there, etc. really changed my life for the better. ❤️

  • you won't be wasting anyone's time. your GP is there to care for your health. We all pay taxes to keep the health services going for not only us working folks but for people like you so please use it.

your GP will assess your symptoms. if depression might be the cause then your GP will ask you to take an assessment and based on the outcome of that they will make an judgement.

to help yourself in the meantime go for a walk now and then to freshen the mind and body, take a friend if need be and just talk about anything you want to or engage in your friend's conversation. maybe a jog would be good.

the mind is a very powerful organ. it needs to be exercised so that it can regenerate itself so its important we give it something to do and think about, something challenging and positive. keep this up and you will never feel these symptoms again.
