I think quite a few people will feel nervous about starting university even now given the fact how much it costs per year. the best thing to is don't hold back but go out and make friends, find some studying buddies. this will try to reduce the effects of depression by jokes and laughs and go out and about. the 1st 2 years may not be that intense as the final year so maybe you can consider getting a part time job on a weekend

It can be a bit overwhelming starting University. Meeting so many new people at once, wondering how you're going to get on with your course, perhaps moving to a new place or leaving home.

As you say, you've only just started. Give yourself some time to settle down. Don't feel like you're the only one feeling miserable - lots of new students feel the same. Consider maybe joining some of the clubs-it can be easier to make friends if you've got a common interest.

Everyone reacts differently to a big change like this, and in spite of the general perception, not everyone else is having an amazing time, especially not at first.

Many Universities have a student counsellor -if you continue to feel unhappy try to make an appointment with him/her.

Meanwhile, try not to worry about it. You may well feel better in a few weeks once you've settled in. Good luck!

a change in life events can take time to adjust for some people. Please be patient and review your achievements however small on a day to day basis. To get up in the morning and dress and have breakfast and get to uni on time is a success!!
