Yes!!!! Go out and enjoy yourself!!!! I have had ITP since I was ten years in 1966!!! I am now on Eltrobopag and still get drops down to 4 sometimes, I enjoy myself and no probs with alcohol!!!!! Never had drops because of a nice night out!!!!

Enjoy your life once in a while, but you have to look after yourself not to get hurt, because your blood platelet is low and the blood is hard to clot. I am allergic to wine, and I wish I could drink like you.

Take care.

Hi! I don't like to have too much to drink as I feel tired sometimes and it would make it worse if I overdid it, however I do enjoy a couple of glasses of wine at the weekend! I have also tried drinking/not drinking and it does not seem to affect my count. Best wishes everyone!

Never had any problems in 20 years with a constant count of 10. However do not get so drunk you could fall and seriously hurt yourself and always carry an ITP Support Association awareness card, just in case.

Have one for me!!!

Hi Sailor,

Where do you get these ITP Support Association Awareness Card?

I found a great place online that sells nice looking med. alert bracelets. I can send you a link if your interested. I love them because I can wear them to meetings and I don't get any of those weird looks from people. They don't notice them because they are beautiful. But in an emergency and up close it is obvious and can save your life.

Hi I'm on romoplostim and at the moment away on a girlie weekend with my nieces and sisters law and believe me the wine is in good flow as sailor says just make sure you are in control have good time

I agree with the others. I drank a bottle last night. A rather nice white Italian plonk.

A bit late to the game but absolutely you can drink. I have tested not drinkiing vs drinking and it makes absolutely no difference to your count,

When I was first diagnosed 2 days before NYE and released from hospital on NYE my mum kept saying to the dr " she can't go to a party can she? " she can't drink though can she?"

My dr replied "she can of course have a drink, but don't drink so much that you fall over or you'll have a nasty bruise"

I like it when drs are honest! enjoy a drink :) x

Yes! I do. But I try to not get completely messed up. My doctor has given me the go ahead to drink 1 glass of white, or 2 glasses of red or 1 cocktail per day. And once in a while I go out and consume more than that. But only once in a while. Make sure you drink only Gluten Free alcohol. Hope you have lots of fun!
