hair loss from itp or n plate

just wondered anyone taking nplate(rompoplostin) or from itp it self has anyone noticed continuous hair loss. mine wont stop falling out.

I have ITP, but no medication now. My hair has "disappeared" somewhat, in places, but more importantly I used to have straight hair and now, when I wake up in the morning I have a very wavy fringe and also a clump of hair at the back which, the best way to describe it is like a wad of matted cotton wool. I know in the greater scheme of things this isn't important, but it drives me mad actually!! I do have under active thyroid gland (on thyroxine) and I have been told that thyroid problems or the meds. can affect your hair. In the past I have taken cyclosporine and mycophenolate which I believe stays in your system for quite a while. - I suppose I'll never know.

I have had ITP for several years, only on medication for blood pressure, but have noticed my hair has thinned a lot in the last year. (am female!!)

I have has ITP for about 18 years - I take no meds, and my hair seems to as thick as ever. I expect in the next 5 years or so to hit the menopause, and I expect it will thin then. My hair may be thick, but it does have quite a lot of grey!

I have always had really thick hair but even my hairdresser noticed it getting thinner after starting romoplostim

do you notice lots of strands coming out whilst brushing and washing.

Actually I don't but my hair is defiantly thinner I find I'm having to wash my hair every second day whereas before my hair looked fine up to a week between washes

yes i am finding my.hair greasy even after a day. i suppose as its quite a new drug they dont fully know all reactions to it. really hope they drop my dose soon very happy its working for me but would love to be drug free. hope your well and things are looking good for you to be free of any medication

I've just been told to inject 500 with count sitting at 172 I'm hoping this is not to high a dose as I just had to phone in for count then they decide what dose I've to take

Hi my daughter who has been on various treatments for her ITP has lost a lot of her hair, we originally put it down to the steroids, her has is coming back now but it is coming back really thick and curly. So unsure if ITP to blame or medications.

thank you for reply i did get told Also could be because of the shock to your body and streessence it gets put under but like your daughter im not quite sure if it was from al the drugs. did your daughter go bold a tall or did new hair grow through did she cut her hair shorter to thickening it up. sorry for all the questions im just so worried i will loose all my hair

Hi , no I've been non N,plate for 3 years . And thank goodness no hair loss. Poor you xx
