Do you mean does platelet count drop after flu shot - then the answer yes. It reduced it to single figures

Thank you! I am still curious how I got this ITP in the first place. I was perfectly healthy with 260,000 all my life until September. I took antibiotics for an infection and got a flu shot and then this.

My daughter developed ITP after a vaccination. It wasn’t the flu vaccine but one fairly new in England a couple of years ago to help prevent cervical cancer. Wouldn’t let any of my family have vaccines following our experience. She is still trying to live with ITP.

Vaccines do not cause ITP or autism. Young children generally develop ITP after a vial or bacterial infection and respond much better to treatment than adults. Cervical and penile cancer are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) and are prevented by vaccinating children 11 to 12years old with the Gardasil vaccine! I would rather vaccinate my son and daughter instead of watching them die of a preventable disease, wouldn’t you? Have a good day

Yes, three weeks after having the flu shot I was admitted to the hospital with a platelet count of 4. I was given the flu shot on my arm and within a week the spot where I received the shot had turned into a large bruise. It got darker by the day, that's how I knew something wasn't right. I'm still convinced that my ITP was brought on by that flu shot. That was the first time I had ever had a flu shot and probably the last.

[English version] I did not happen to me, but after having my first episode of ITP every time that I had flu my platelets went down, so as soon as I get my platelets up again I asked my doctor if it was possible to get a flu shot, but he did not recommended since the vaccine contains the virus inactive, but is the virus itself and he said that probably after the vaccine I could get my platelets down again....Since then I don't get the flu vaccine, just to don't give to the ITP an excuse to came back again.

My ITP was diagnosed after a very heavy cold type virus and my count always drops with any viral illness. I had a flu jab a few years ago and my count dropped a couple of weeks later. Though it may just be a coincidence, I haven’t had a flu jab since and I try and avoid people with colds. My count has been fairly stable for 18 months now.
