Fall i platelets count after ivig treatment

My platelates fall upto 2000 then after transfusion treated with ivig treatment. My platelates level rises upto 1.4 lakh with in a month but after that falls to 40 thouand. I m on depsone 100 mg. Im worried now please comment is this fall and rise is common in itp

IVIG is usually a temporary treatment, used to bring up platelet counts out of critical levels. It lasted me 3 weeks.

With ivig drip platelets went to 210 4 / 6 weeks later mine are now 80 as stated only a short term solution unfortunately I won't have one again I had a bad reaction same as when i was on steroids for optic neuritis a bad reaction on a plus we have to try or we would never know keep your spirits up it can very much be trial and error and remember you have this site and all the best information 1st hand .

I found a great way to boost platelets naturally was by drinking papaya tea every day twice a day. This seemed to help me quite a bit. Whenever I feel they are low I start this and within a few days they are much better.

Something Buddha Tea on Amazon or just got the loose leaf stuff from Amazon and make tea that way!

Sorry will see if I can find the link somewhere. It's like a black and orange/gold box. When you use it though brew it and leave saucer on top for about 10/15 mins before drinking it.

Ahhh ok!! Cyprus is good very very hot!! Been here about 2 months now. I lived in Garsington so East Oxford ish as well. Yes went to school near Culham and went to Oxford Brookes. Small world!!

Smaller than you think! I am off up to Garsington this morning as I am involved with a wonderful herd of nstually kept horses who do therapy with people. They are kept in the field below the church. We have ten people coming from Mind today.....it's one of the lovely things which came into my life once my platelets told me to stop working like a bee! I liked your post because I play sport too - korball ( even tho I am50!) And songbird itp tell me I can't, even if I get a bit batttered!,

Ivig is short term l too had this now platelets dropped would not worry too much just keep getting monited it can become overpowering at first I know I felt like that 6 months on I just get on with it and be safe take care.

Ivig lasted only 3 weeks for my son, the next dose of his ivig they also infused iv solumedrol but again it only lasted for 3 weeks...
