I got ITP when I was pregnant with our youngest. He was born with ITP and had it for the first month of life. I now have chronic ITP.. I could probably answer Amy questions you may have.

I was diagnosed as a child (about 10) and had it till about my mid 20's. I went into a remission where I was usually at about 150's-190. Then all of a sudden a few months ago it came back and my count was a 2. Currently trying to get it under control. Feel free to ask any questions. Hopefully I could help.

How do you treatment your son?my daughter have itp too.im so confused.two haematolog have a different opinion.the first doctor said no need treatment .the second doctor said need treatment with prednisolone.my daughter had the low platelet 28k with severe bleeding.please your advise

We watch and wait and treat any bleed with tranexamic acid We have treated twice with 2 x round of ivig but only after 10 hour bleeds. My son also has asd so steroids is something I refused. Sometimes the treatment far side effects outweigh any positive effect in Australia our doctors er on the side of caution with treatment.Each case is individual though. More often than not itp in children is acute ans is triggered by a virus or a reaction to immunizations or outside factors so that is why they monitor, Our fb page is for people living in Australia but if you go to pdsa.org you will find lots of hlep

Recently,she had 2 times nose bleeding but i not sure she scratch her nose or internal bleeding...but doctor didn't said internal bleeding.

My daughter diagnose at 2, now already 3yr4mon. Her platelet always up n down mostly 10,a few times at 2 n 50.

By the way,i from Malaysia. May i kown someone here with itp? We can exchange more knowledge about itp

My kid is 9 and she has been detected with itp..she was on dose of prednisone for 14 days..first 4 days in hospital in 80mg then 60mg for 10 days.

My 1.5 yrs son has itp since 3 months.Didn't control with steroids but with tab.Dapsone 20mg once a day,count were 2,70,000.At present,count 4,00,000.still have to continue medicine for another 3 months

My daughter has Itp she was diagnosed when she was 3 years old and she is 9 now. Her case was the hardest to get under control for a very long time and the Dr that sheshe sees Is called the itp guru.
