My question is that one of the supplements he has me taking is a multi vitamin that contains 150mcg of
iodine
. I’ve to take this for 3 months and though I don’t know much about this I’ve read on here and many other places that
iodine
is bad for those suffering from thyroid disease.

types of salts and iodine
Himalayan, Celtic and sea salt contain
iodine
naturally whereas rock salt doesn’t. I use Bart’s rock salt and they confirmed it’s non iodised. hi, I Have Graves so should avoid
iodine
. Does anyone know whether there is
iodine
in rock salt and Himalayan salt?

Question for thyroidectomized patients: iodine processing issues?`
I do not have a thyroid, and wonder - since the thyroid is by far the organ with the highest need for
iodine
... how does
iodine
get processed in the body of someone who does not have a thyroid?

ERFA with added iodine
Hiya.I have recently sourced a batch of ERFA via a private pharmacy, but after reading the fine print on the bottle, I have noticed it also contains 0.2 % of
iodine
. I thought this would be counterproductive, as
iodine
supplementation is not recommended with hypothyroidism?

Association between different water iodine exposures & thyroid cancer: A retrospective study of high water iodine areas in China 2009-20
In areas where water
iodine
decreased to adequate
iodine
levels, there was a strong negative correlation between the decreased level of water
iodine
and the incidence of thyroid cancer.

The Iodine Debate
Another book I got,
Iodine
and Why You Need It by David Brownstein seems to show the opposite. I’m sure little
iodine
might work for some and a lot more
iodine
might work for other but curious on others thoughts. Thanks

Is it possible to get rid of excess iodine in my body?
High
iodine
in my my body was caused by a drug, namely Amiodarone prescribed for afib. Stopped taking this drug on 10 August. This drug is toxic due to very high
iodine
content that stays in the body for a very long time (half life).

Carbimazole and weight!
Carb reduced to 5mg.Endo is keen for me to have Radio
iodine
.. I have struggled with weight, and have read that Radio
iodine
, causes further weight gain. I have early onset Osteoarthritis, and am awaiting knee replacements. I'm currently on a very strict diet (and sugar free since Christmas!)

Tapioca in gluten free products/reduces iodine absorption?
On researching tapioca, seems it’s moved up the at risk list for latex allergy folk now, and discovered this about
iodine
. I’ve had
iodine
deficiency in past, so seems a bit ironic to be eating gluten free to help my thyroid, then eating a lot of tapioca into the bargain!

Hypothyroidism recovery time (Iodine deficiency induced) ?
I consulted a doctor and she gave me a supplement that contained
iodine
and I'm quite sure I had
iodine
deficiency because I was taking little salt. All in all I've been taking
Iodine
for 1 year and 9 months now , but not major improvement.

Low fT4, but midrange fT3. Feeling cold, brain fog.
I read that fT4 low and fT3 midrange could mean to be
iodine
deficient. Currently, I do not take any Thyroxine, and have not before. Which way should I go? Take
iodine
, take T4 or T4/T3, a combination of these, or something different? Any ideas are welcome.

I know there are discussions about the possibility of worsening Hashimotos but would there be a problem having a very low dose of it whilst on T3 and T4 meds if careful?
