ok so we are with biotexcom now and it was pretty decent. let that pass, there are tons of reviews on the web
anyways my sm delivered our dearest son when Ukraine was on a lockdown already. now, I don't think you can imagine how we felt being that far away from HIM. long story short, after a million blanks filled in, we managed to come to Kyiv a couple of weeks ago (the little one has to know momma's gonna kill for him lol)
but guess what, we are QUARANTINED for 2 weeks and we can't see the baby. on top of it, we have to pay for our stay in some shitty hotel. the food tastes like shit pardon my language. the room is a time machine which transferred us to the soviet union. we can't leave the hotel but most importantly we can't see HIM :cry:
is there anyone who's in the same situation? what to do to see my son???

Agreed. People come to Ukraine with all possible med problems. Those make the healthy pregnancy just impossible: Diagnosis like Deformation of the cavity or cervix uterine. Absence of a womb. Severe somatic diseases. More than 4 implantation failures (transfer of high quality embryos) and others. All these indications should be confirmed by relevant medical reports. Surrogacy is the ONLY chance for them. They don't come to apply for it just because women want to preserve their figures or that they are afraid of delivery etc. All these people do have serious reasons! I personally have nothing against this option. The surrogates are all adults. They are free with their choice. No one can force them do what they don't want. The vast majority of surrogacy journeys are successful. That's why I believe that intended parents can feel confident and trust their surrogate to carry and deliver their baby. Surrogacy is a decision that requires time, research, and support. But it's absolutely awesome if done in an appropriate place. I was amazed with the way our clinic in Ukraine took care about their surrogates. People from all around the world come there, I guess they all have their own reasons, surely.
I understand your concerns. In fact, I don't want to say where I'm from because of the same reasons. :)) Surrogacy is banned in my country so I'm not quite sure the embassy is willing to help. Thanks for the advice anyway, I'm sending my manager an email!

yepp the ladies are extra nice and biotexcom has done a great job and i can't thank them enough frankly. although there were a lot of issues they are easily forgotten when your baby's here. i'm so emotional now, just crying over my baby's pic

let's see, it's approx €1k for the 2 of us, 14 days. as for me, it's freakin expensive. i hate this place. it smells horribly and i can see the traces of people who lived here before... if you know what i mean.
meals are included but as i said it makes me sick just to look at it. also the food is delivered in a cheap plastic container like the one you would normally put a cake in. totally disgusting. also - sorry for the juicy details - my stomach's gone absolutely crazy because of their crappy meals. i just,,, i can't take it longer. however im doing it for my baby, i;m happy to be here and im so grateful that biotexcom could help us get here!!
we were told we will have the covid tests done soon and if it's negative we'll be released earlier. but i don't know when that's gonna happen. if the tests come back positive... idk? think we'll have to go to hospital and pay more?
Ocean_a, hi. May I ask where do you come from? Surrogacy law varies greatly from coutry to country. The most tricky, to my mind, is there in the US. Every state has its own legislative base. Sometimes poeple get trapped when having finished their surrogacy plans successfully, parents cannot take their kids home because LAW does not allow this. It's horrible and unfair..So I'm asking for general outlook..TIA

unfortunately no. we are in the hotel that accepts foreigners for quarantine. i think this hotel has made some agreements with the Ukrainian government to keep newcomers away for 14 days until we prove we're c-19 negative. not 100% sure tho?
I'm so sorry to hear this. The conditions you live in..omg what hotel are you staying in? I saw BTC official web page, the pics of their appartments look ok, I wonder why it differs so much in reality!? Anyway, I cardially congratulate you on your DS. The huge work's done and it's done successfully. Another point is the quarantine.. Seems the whole world is on hold now. I must feel frustrated now, I know. I saw a piece of news saying hundreds of surrogacy newborns got stuck in Ukraine because of the closed boarders. That's a huge luck you did manage to come to Kiev. Quarantine won't last forever, I'm praying you can see your little one soon. Stay strong, the hardest part is already behind.
I started this topic 28 days ago and now a lot of things have changed. We have picked up our son about 10 days ago and since then I cannot leave him alone even for a minute haha. I am so happy we arrived in Ukraine, it was the right decision. Although we are now staying in an apartment provided by Biotexcom, still in Ukraine, not knowing when we will be able to fly back, it is the happiest time of my life. My husband says that he would go through this hell a million times ago just to be able to hold our sun. I become so emotional sometimes, sorry for that ❤

hi, nice to see you here again. I don't have much time, need to feed a baby soon, but I'll try to answer you. Well, Biotexcom was fine, they were trying to help us for sure, not just waiting till the end of the pandemic. But maybe they were annoyed with all those babies at the hotel, who knows haha. to be honest, they work really hard. there are a lot of parents waiting for receiving the documentation so we need to wait A LOT. but it is ok. before the pandemic everything was fine.
P.S. now we live in a biotexcom flat and it is much better than a soviet union hotel room lol. our son is here and it is the most important now

Yesterday I saw a youtube video about the clinic you're using. 70+ babies were born during the quarantine! And only a few parents could come to take their little ones home. So you're very lucky! I don't know what would I do if my baby is so far away(
I'm also with biotexcom. My dh and I going to Ukraine next week! Hopefully, I'll see my daughter in 21 days! I'm so glad to see your update! The whole situation sucks! I can't even imagine what you had to go through. OMG, I saw this video.. This must be a mutual cooperation. The clinic has its own responsibilities. But IP have them too. The way to success is formed of following all the instructions. I watched once their head of English department was talking about IP don't read the attached documents and then create obstacles. Bu here the situation is absolutely weird! Nobody was prepared for the world's pandemic which closed all the boarders and brought so much discomfort to all the sides of the process. It pains to see all those cute LOs without their parents. I want to believe this nightmare will end soon.
BTC has found the solution to possible closed boarders for their foreign patients. I know for sure they send some special invitations now to all their parents to be. With its help they can come to Ukraine any time and continue their treatment plans. There are no more hundreds of babies stuck in Ukraine. Their parents can come on the due date and then finish the exit steps.
Just sharing some of my personal experience with their accommodations. We lived in Venice hotel. Absolutely liked it. Coming there you should expect not just a reasonably sized and very clean room, but morning and evening housekeeping service, high quality toiletries, linens, and bedding. Room service and a fine in-house restaurant. Genuine and truly heartfelt service can only come from staff that are happy to work at that establishment. They look at you as the priority of their efforts. Service is number-one. They have a 24-hour concierge to help with your needs. It’s important to stay in a place that’s close to where you need to be, whatever that might be. So this is another plus of the place.
They love the little stuff when it comes to staying away from home. In-room, HD TVs, free WiFi, luxurious bath products, free in-room coffee and tea service.
We loved the place. We had a housemaid who was so kind and each time telling us a new inspirational story. It was very kind of her as she knew herself the path people there were going through. Definitely a nice place to stay in!

I've heard quite contradicting stories about surrogacy journeys to different countries. Some ended well. Some dramatically not. We all read from time to time when a surrogate doesn't want to give the baby after delivery. Or that clinics do mistakes and then want the IPs to pay for this. The last thing I heard was that a lady complained over a lab's work. She told "they spill embryos on the floor and then want you to pay.." These are saddening.. I don't want to make sb feel discouraged. The only thing I want to say it's of huge help to address to others in the same boat on different boards. We did the same. Except of a huge amount of support we found this BTC - a reputable place to be treated at. Have nothing to regret about. Doctors were nice and understanding. Nurses - amazing. The place invests money into itself. It's comfortable and modern. Love to watch their YouTube channel, especially videos about newborns - they are so touchy!
Definitely! In the UK for example, a woman who gives birth to the baby is considered to be his mother. Then you go to the court to gain your parental rights. furthermore it happens the surrogate may back out or change her mind so that you'll never get your long expected child! This is too frustrating! You invest time and money and get nothing at the end..In Ukraine those episodes are impossible. Surrogacy is best regulated there. every part of the process knows his role. i truly cannot understand those phrases like ''modern slaves'' or ''exploitation'' or sth. Those are the rules of the game. It is important that you and the carrier speak to a mental health professional specializing in infertility about these and other concerns. A mental health screening can help ensure that all parties have considered all matters. It will also help to determine if you and your carrier are compatible. On the whole each part must feel protected, this is what i think. Ladies here are giving very reasonable comments. Surely a nice board to be on.
The fact I love the most is that Biotex com is working with fresh biological material only. Moreover, it's always a 5 day trasfer. The blasto stage which is considered to be optimal for the embryos. Also it's amazing donor eggs are avaliable option in case things don't work after several shots. We didn't see such large donor database anywhere else. Also the opportunity to choose the one which fits us the best..All this makes the place unique, as well as med staff is awesome. BTW, they've got different treatment plans for OE, DE IVF/ mitochondrial donation/ surrogacy. One can definitely choose from this wide range of services. I'm quite ashamed to say now that time ago I was sceptical as for surrogacy. My opinion has changed dramatically since I met my good friend. Poor girl, she suffers from MRKH the entire life. She told when she was first diagnosed on the condition, she didn't understand all the seriousness of the problem. She didn't quite understand what this meant for her future.. The story ended in a way her husband and she used a surrogate overseas to enlarge the family. Their surrogate conceived with both placed embies. Unfortunately, one of the blasts vanished, so they ended up with one.
Telling all this I just wanted to say, surrogacy is a serious and responsible process for all the parts. It's vital to know the clinic is doing everything possible to help you. From the other side lots of things depend on a surrogate mother who will carry your little one up to the end of a term. Not the last question is whether the IPs are really prepared for all the challenges.
I myself used IVF. I'm not a newbie in the infertility world. I know the bitterness of unsuccess.

Surrogacy is a very emotional and expensive process for a woman to have a baby. The decision to continue onto surrogacy is usually a last resort. Surrogacy plan never works with a woman who just wants to keep her figure or sth else. See, if a woman can afford surrogacy which may cost between $70k -$100k for example, she can probably afford a tummy tuck or “mommy makeover.”So this is not the reason. Most women who want to be parents do not care about the temporary weight gain. Having a family is the most important aspect of their lives and number one priority. Surrogacy is about one woman helping another woman enjoy parenthood. And it has nothing to do with the mom to be concerned with her physical appearance!! Sorrogates are lovely, kind people, one cannot be thankful enough for what they are doing.

Initial consultation. It usually contains the following activities: A set of tests depending on the program (fasting is mandatory). Consultation with a fertility specialist who will be in charge of your program (in case of stimulation you will need to have the transvaginal ultrasound check done). Consultation with a manager who will guide you through the program step by step. Signing of contracts. Before any initial consultation you will receive the Guidelines for the Initial Consultation – failure to follow these recommendations may affect the initial consultation in a negative way. Search & confirmation of a surrogate mother, matching process. Waiting time depends on the type of contact. Stimulation & synchronisation stage (about 2 weeks). The cycle of egg donor or the biological mother is synchronised with the cycle of a surrogate mother. According to your contract you have to follow all doctors instruction. In case of self-treatment or violation of the treatment protocol, the clinic may cancel the cycle and terminate the contract. Fertilization day, embryo transfer – the 2nd visit. In case the biological mother undergoes hormonal stimulation and is being prepared for egg retrieval, the second visit may take up to 10 days. If we are talking about surrogacy using own eggs it is not recommended to leave the same day. Flying the following day is fine.The rules for sperm donation are similar as for the initial consultation – a man needs to abstain from ejaculation from 3 to 5 days before. After fertilisation the embryo development is monitored by embryology unit. The embryo transfer takes place on the 5th day. You will receive the protocol of embryo cultivation and transfer within 3 working days after the embryo transfer. HCG test, pregnancy confirmation. The first ultrasound scan is carried out in 2 weeks after the positive HCG test by the doctor in charge of the program. The report will be send the same or the next day after the check.
Pregnancy monitoring. Delivery. Obtaining of the birth certificate for the baby (up to 1 week).
I've read about lot of pros and cons about the process. I believe that surrogate mothers should be allowed everywhere. If somebody can't have children they should still be able to raise a family of their own. To some people, having the same DNA as your child is very important. I believe that if someone is willing to be a surrogate mother to help somebody out, they should be able to. Also, gay people aren't able to have a baby with both of their DNA, so it would be nice to at least have one of the partners genes, and have the other legally adopt the child. If someone doesn't think they would be able to give away the baby after giving birth to them, they shouldn't sign the contract. Although there is always law and they will have to give up the child to the other family. The thing which amuses is that it'll never happen in Ukraine. Surrogate mothers in Ukraine have no rights on the child. As a rule, parent of the child is indicated by the biological father who provided the sperm. That's why for the program of surrogate motherhood in Ukraine can go only married couples. And for the same reason Ukraine do not cooperate with homosexual couples. Hi there. Friends of mine are currently doing standard surrogacy package with BTC. Using own egg for the IVF/ surrogacy. Though their 1st cycle was canceled before egg retrieval. For both the following reasons: Too many follicles developing, creating a risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. also some other medical issues. My advice for those who might be in the same shoes is DO NOT PANIC! If your cycle is canceled, your doctor might recommend changing medications or their doses to promote a better response during future ER. Or you may be advised that you need an egg donor. (In my clinic they usually give you 2 attempts with OE. If no luck - then you’re more likely move onto DE). Of course, the surrogacy option, like any other option, should be studied properly before rushing into. as this might save you money sums, nerves and general health. We've passed surrogacy plan at biotexcom. This was a nice but overwhelming journey. I guess mainly because I wasn't 100% there emotionally. I never thought I'd need another woman to carry my little one. For me this was a huge emotional rollercoaster - I was prepared for everything: ivf, iui, icsi etc. But thought this was gonna me to give birth to my baby!! Oh God, all in all, if no surrogacy- There would be no baby into my life ever..

Thank you for sharing your story. Surrogacy legislation in Ukraine we were opting is quite favourable for IP. They have specific set of laws to protect IPs’ rights and the rights of SM. Intended mother provides medical certificate proving her disability to carry pregnancy on her own. Restrictions for SMs are also set by law: Age 18-39. Being absolutely healthy and having at least one healthy child. What we liked is that SM has no right to change her mind and keep the baby after delivery. IPs are considered to be biological parents of the child. Birth certificate is issued with the names of IPs as parents, no name of SM mentioned. It was very important for us.
Then considering the contract conditions and fees. I found reproductive clinics’ directory on the web with their contact info and websites. Some websites provided service and price info, some didn’t, so I had to email them. The prices were different. The same were the conditions. When considering surrogacy fees, one should ask consultant if the price is final and what extra fees are, if any. Also the number of attempts they provide. Also if medications are covered by your contract. Some clinics assign lower price. But then it is actually doubled with costs of all medications needed.
