Hi everyone, I'm new to this so I'm really sorry if I'm not posting correctly!

I'll give a bit of background first. Around October 2014, I took very ill. I was lethargic all the time and had severe pain in my left side. Doctor's were diagnosing an infection but they couldn't locate it. After 6 months an ultrasound revealed something on the left ovary, and I was advised by my own doctor it wasn't a cyst.

A few weeks after this, I was admitted to hospital in sever pain, I'd lost 2 stone in a month, and was seriously dehydrated. The consultants told me it was a hemmoragic cyst and to go home until a scheduled appointment for an overview. I argued (I know it seems rude but I was so unwell) and asked them to take the cyst out. What was initially a laproscopic procedure became a laparotomy as it was a burst abscess turning sceptic. It ruined my left fallopian tube, damaged the right, and adhered my left tube to the bowel that all needed fixed. It resulted in 3 years of ongoing pain, hospital admittance, and eventually another laprosopy to remove both tubes.

That was this February. I took 8 weeks off work (all the scar tissue removal resulted in longer healing), and after that, dived straight back into fyll time work, as well as taking on a fast track part time degree.

I suppose I feel like I haven't given myself the time to heal. I don't have much support from friends or family (my family keep telling me to go to court because of the misdiagnosis which I really don't want to do, and my best friend who was once worried about he fertility just keeps telling me there are other ways). I feel like I don't have someone to talk to and in my town there are very few options for support for this. I know I must sound like I'm being dramatic, but I know that I can't have a natural conception now, and while I'm not planning that at the moment, and my partner does his very best, I'm not sure who to turn to.

I've barely spoken about this at all because I feel like I'm a burden but this has been almost a 4 year ordeal with a lot of surgeries (I also needed to have a coil removed under general anesthetic as a result) and I'm a little lost. I'm very sorry for the long post, and I'm very thankful for any advice you can give. Xx

Hi Hun, I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your ordeal and what a shame you have no one to turn to.

There are definitely other ways for you to conceive but only when you’re in the right headspace! Good luck to you and shout if you want to talk.

Xx

Hi dear. Really sorry to hear that you had to go through all this process. It must have been very painful for you. Especially when things don’t go your way. But I hope that you do not give up. Ups and downs are a part of life. That does not mean that it is the end. They are a constant reminder that tries again. I was also been told by my doctor that I could not conceive a baby. But I knew that there is always a plan B. So I contacted a clinic in Europe. They agreed to help me in my situation. They suggested me of Surrogacy. I took the chance. The result came positive. Now I have my own baby. What more do you want?

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I really do appreciate it. Thankfully I've slowly been coming to terms with the situation, I think it was just getting exacerbated because I'm still not past ill health yet (we're trying everything but my left ovary may need removed as well to stop the chronic pain). Hopefully once I get past this hurdle, I can sit down and really consider my options. I won't give up hope that it'll work out in the end. =) xx
