Coma for a month

Hi readers, my boyfriend has been in ICU for more than a month now due to severe head injury he got from quadbike accident recently in brims. He was put in induced coma for weeks. But was then taken out of induced coma. He had a tracheostomy for weeks. Good thing he is showing little movements of arms and legs but still in coma. It was hard not to be with him to take care of him. He is in Scotland and I am here in the Philippines. But keeping my faith that he will recover anytime soon. 😘

I was in ICU in both Ninewells in Dundee and Hairmyres in East Kilbride I was sedated ,paralysed and ventilated for the best part of a 4 weeks.

I can assure you that the care I received in both hospitals was second to none. My family were not give much hope for me a few times.

With the care I received from the hospital and my family in here to fight on.

My thoughts and prayers to you and your boyfriend.

Thank you. Its been really hard and whats harder is I could not get an update about his condition as often as I should. He was confined in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. I tried reaching out many times but the hospital policy is too strict to disclose informations.

Glad you are better and living a normal life.

My husband was in an induced coma for two and a half months after going into septic shock and he did recover. It was so horrible at the time and I felt totally helpless. It must be very difficult being so far away, but he will be in really good hands. The care that my husband received was amazing. You may find that he has good and bad days so try not to be disheartened, recovery is a bit like a rollercoaster when that person has been so poorly. I remember just holding on to any positive that was said to me.

It's taken a couple of years but my husband is now back to work and we are leading normal life.

Remember to look after yourself too and try and stay as positive as you can. I wish you both well. xx

My advice is the same to you. Remain hopeful is the best advice we were given and my loved one did make a full recovery. It is a rollercoaster being in ICU sedated and paralysed. It was very hard and traumatic witnessing the person I love dearly go through that. There are many positive stories of recovery that others have shared I hope your partner makes a full recovery. Remain hopeful and know that others care about you and your partner.
