I didn’t even notice I had one in. So no, it’s not sore x
Hi,they will numb the area before inserting the catheter.It was very quick and like a slight pinch and I never felt anything else for the 2 weeks I had it in ( including the need to pee !) so don't worry too much.
I cannot speak as a lady, but as a man, I can say that the thought of it is far worse than the reality. You will be numbed well. Just lie back and think of England... or wherever! Once in, I has no sensation from it at all. Mine was in for over two months (I think it was changed whilst I was in an induced coma). The thought of it coming out also filled me with dread - but I need not have worried. One quick yank by a kindly nurse and all was over. There was some irritation once out - but this soon eased. I am pleased to report that all is now well down there and working as it should do! Don't worry. You will be fine.
