Oliver Sacks

Very interesting lecture on brain behavior for any coma survivors or carers of those currently in a coma. Not the whole story but potentially helpful.

  • Thank you for this.

  • I wonder if any have read the book by the neurosurgeon Dr Eben Alexander, written after he had a near death experience while in a coma with bacterial meningitis. He was effectively brain-dead but he had vivid dreams which subsequently convinced him that consciousness is independent of the brain. He wrote of this in his book, Proof of Heaven. It's a little egocentric and he subsequently came into controversy with Sacks and others. Still, it's an interesting read for anyone who has been in coma.
