Not updated for a while

Hi everyone - I've not updated for a while - still on the rollercoaster. Dad still hanging on in there though incredibly weak and now has a urine infection and collection of pus in his chest. The last few months have proven too much for my mum who ended up in hospital herself after a heart attack and infections. Yesterday my mum came home but we were also told (as was my dad) that he has about 3 months left. They were talking about rehabilitation before but I just don't think any of us see it working. He is skeletal now, still can't eat and drink due to the paralysed vocal chord and I hate to admit it but I just don't think he has or ever will have a quality of great life again I always hoped he would be home for Christmas, always hoped a miracle would happen but unfortunately I don't think its going to.

So sorry to read this, I feel your pain a lot of us on here are going through some tough times 😕 But you never know what will happen stay strong xx

Don't give up! The ICU is a rollercoaster. Be firm in your faith. God can turn it around. I will continue to pray for your family as well as those on here. This should be a time of celebration, but we all are having tribulations. If you need anyone to talk to, I'm here.

He has been out of ICU for 5 weeks (after being in for a couple of months)- we all hoped that he was on the road to recovery but doctors said yesterday he has just been through too much

Hiya - he is being fed through a PEG and they are going to drain the pus. They said that he is just getting infections as he is just lying in bed. The hospital have started the ball rolling for CHC funding - my mum is not keen to have him home so I think he will be going to a care home. Still a nicer environment than a hospital. I am struggling with my mum being so negative and just wanting this whole ordeal over and I just want him to last as long as possible.
