On Monday 31st March at their London headquarters, the Royal Society of Medicine in partnership with ICUsteps and The London Clinic will be holding a joint half day conference as part of the Society’s ‘Medicine & Me’ series of events.

The Medicine and Me ICU event is an engaging range of talks from leading intensive care professionals, patients and their relatives. The sessions are aimed at an audience of ICU survivors and their relatives as well as healthcare professionals so whether you work in critical care or have been been a patient or relative in intensive care, you’ll be welcome to attend and the event is free for patients and relatives.

The aim of these events is to give the patient's voice top priority. For healthcare professionals, they provide an opportunity for to hear first hand from patients and their families about their experiences and concerns and for patients to hear about the latest treatment and research by questioning the experts in an informal environment.

To find out more, please visit icusteps.org/rsm or pass on the address to anyone else who may be interested in attending.

Hi Peter

I've booked a place at the conference. I'm coming down from High Peak on my own & a bit nervous, so I hope I will get the chance to meet up with you & plenty of other icu survivors.

Don't be too nervous - easier said than done I know! Went to Milton Keynes for ICU steps first conference - it was brill and definitely made me feel we are not alone! How wonderful is it that these amazing life saving professionals want to hear from us

Thanks for the support. I am looking forward to it I just don't have the confidence I used to have & I have mobility problems, so it's quite a big step for me.

Hi, I am going to try to book a place (depending on whether I am in university that day). My daughter was in ICU/HDU for 4 months and I have got my final nursing placement in an ICU/HDU in June for 12 weeks.
