Help!! Query wound infection

Hi ladies, I’m 7 weeks post op tomorrow, had TAH & to be fair have healed really well. This afternoon I started to feel a bit yuck & felt like I’d got period pains. When I had a look at my wound it’s the most red it’s ever been!!! It’s a bit sticky but not oozing, wondering if it’s a start of a infection or maybe because it’s been quite warm today etc. Any advice is most welcome xx

Hi tweetyburd! Is it hotter to touch around the scar than the rest of your skin? If it is you may have an infection. If I were you go straight to your GP/surgery nurse, whoever you can see first. If it is just the heat they will tell you straightaway! If you can’t get to see GP/nurse go see a pharmacist. Don’t delay because you’ll only worry anyway. Good luck!

Thank u StIvesmaid, just got back from seeing the GP & he doesn’t think it’s infected more like a rash from the warm weather etc 🙈 given me some cream. Must admit it does look better this morning compared to last night but don’t need to worry over the weekend etc now xx
