Hi,

Is there a physical reason why the belly swells in the evenings still, I'm worse after more demanding physical days?

3 months in.

I went out literally had a maternity top on when going out to see my friends on Friday night and stretch leggings!

Does anyone know if medically we are still healing?

I had swelly belly for 8 month after my tah bso. It can take up to 12 months to recover fully. I also found I got swelly belly when I had done too much

Thank you I believe I am in early days then still, I'm being too hard on myself.

I did sit my husband down on Sunday to tell him the expectation was too much on me at this stage.

Thank you so much

I’m 19 today since TAH and BSO. I get a bit swelly in the evenings. If I stretch awakwardly my scar (bikini line) stings! Also I had very large fibroid and cysts on the right of my pelvis and I have discomfort there which is I guess due to healing. When I saw my consultant at 6 weeks post op he said to expect 3 months for internal healing. I got the impression this was “at least 3 months” even though it wasn’t said. This was the man who told me pre op that a holiday in Tenerife 4 weeks to the day post op would do me the world of good! ( I cancelled the holiday)

Oh dear God a holiday at 4 weeks I would have needed a beach sarong and someone else's shorts never mind paying extra luggage for the size of my knickers st that stage.

Yes I'm expecting too much of myself.

Thank you so much.

😂 I was more concerned at the time about travelling and carrying things but good point about what on earth to wear! Hopefully your consultant will be able to help you. You’ve certainly been through it lately x

That was meant to be 19 weeks post op. Been a very long time since I was 19!

It took 3 months for me to feel like i was starting to recover and prob 6 before i felt ok. It is still early days and you need to be taking it slowly. If you start to feel worse rather than better i would get checked out by your nurse or dr just in case. Ive noticed on your other post you mention not sleeping. Insomnia ia a common symptom with menopause. Hopefully your hrt will sort it out but if it doesnt settle down it may be that your dose needs altering. It takes a good 12 months to recover from hysterectomy whether its abd or lap. Be good to yourself x

Thank you Dawn, I booked in to have all my levels checked in a month. I have traumatic sleep issues stemming from PSTD and think a few triggers have me worse than usual 😯 though I initially felt better on my hrt and levels were checked in my blood to be fine at 7 weeks this may have changed since then.

I decided to pay to see my consultant in a month so that I'm not heading toward him with these conditions only being temporary, I wanted to make sure they are all ongoing issues.

I have a bit of an issue with 2.5 stone extra in weight (since my period of inactivity started last year) and subsequently have started snoring at night and feel conscious of being in a size 16 top (my chest grows with my stomach area etc so I'm very busty atm...

Classic lolly pop shaped body 😂)

As I feel weighty, kind of caught between a rock and a hard place as my body is kind of signalling I'm not ready yet to properly exercise (being a past avid exerciser to control my woman's issues)...

I take anti depressants they tend to make my appetite increase.

I know this is a longer road than I anticipated.

I am not feeling spasmy crampy down there after those feelings last week yet have had a bit of stabbing pain around the time my period would have been due. When I was pregnant I also had period pain at that time so knowing now what I know it was probably the endometrial tissue.

Part of this healing process is based on hope and beluef that my Endometriosis Consultant found it and got rid of most of it but half of me for some reason is drifting into the mindset that I've got leftovers or more havoc to come with this spindly creeping crawling poison ivy.

It's not like me to be gloomy and glass half full.

I'm going to book into my Doc's for an all over bloods check type test.

Thank you for your kind words and support its very much appreciated.
