Sharp pain

I have had a hysterectomy 11 days ago by key hole and my ovaries were not removed. It has taken such a long time for my drs to agree to this operation but after my last endometriosis and adenomyosis flare up lost of drs appointment and different medication the hospital allowed me to have the operation.

I have felt really well and able to do a lot more than I thought I would. Unfortunately today I have started to get the awful sharp pain in my tummy , it builds up to a point of me nearly screaming then it calms down. I've not had to taken any morphine since day 2 post operation but tonight I have and it still isn't making the pain ease.

Has anyone else had this issue?

It's 2am in the morning and I can't sleep as the pains so bad.

Not going to nag but you gotta gotta rest you have lots of internal stitches and bowel and bladder need to adjust to not having uterus there. You don't wanna risk ripping stitches hernia or prolapse it is so boring and annoying sitting around but will make you heal better then get better quicker. I 'm in the same boat I had my op on the 7th but ovaries and all but have only been given paracetamol and ibruprofen which firstly found annoying but has made me feel pain so made me rest 😖😖😖I am very bored and also have the hot flushes menopause which is a pain in the arse but it is the long resting time for a reason we have the little outside cut but stuff is pull around a lot and inflated with the laparoscopic hysterectomy there's a lot to heal .

Like I say don't wanna nag but just passing it on . Hope you feel better this morning

Maybe the pain is gas pains still though, GP told me can take 2-3 weeks to get out of system I definitely still getting gut cramps which are super painful think they've been the worse bit of this op as pain killers don't help 😖 Moving around does but then that hurts the actual scars 😖

Mint tea or peppermint capsules help a lot with trapped gas, but it can take a while to shift it all. Drink plenty of water, but slowly so you don't gulp too much air. Hope you feel better soon. Xx

Try drinking warm peppermint cordial it gets rid of the gas

I'm having mine in 2 weeks time and was thinking it's going to be great to sit out relax and enjoy the sunshine!

I've just been a sweaty mess came home from hospital with sickness bug so have been hyper paranoid about germs endless washing and sterilizing and now turns out I have a urine infection when I finally managed to get to GP plus only just got hrt so only had like 2 sleep without awakening in a night sweat since op omg. Think if I lived with someone else it I would have been able to get to GP and get meds quicker and would have been a lot easier and I would have been out getting a tan 😀 Hopefully you have some support at home and your op runs smoothly 💗💗💗💗💗 I vastly underestimated how I could cope the amount of washing has been awful with the sickness and sweats so I would advise definitely need some help daily the first week after op.💗💗💗 goodluck for your op 💗💗💗

I'm currently at the drs waiting to be seen as my tummy is so sore and I can barely stand.

Just back, more pain meds and some extra strong laxatives. Dr says it's just my body telling me to stop and slow down. Hope your doing ok?

GP said I have probably a UTI but the abx not working so waiting for results from urine sample to see if I need different abx or it's something else.

It's really annoying isn't it the resting and working out how much rest too in my advanced recovery NHs booklet basically saying every day walk more blah blah blah , the first week I could barely sit up still now very uncomfortable and painful with the gut stuff , nothing seemed to help and I constantly going to the toilet tmi . What did GP say you should be doing rest wise? I've found low dose amiltripilene at night has helped with the nerve pain the pain killers didn't touch that pain, so might be worth asking for that if you find pain killers not working but hopefully they will. Hope you have a better day sorry to hear stuff not improving I'm sure by this time next week stuff will be better for us both . I think if we could get some sleep it would be helpful 😐😐😐
