Nine weeks....

It will be nine weeks on Wednesday since my surgery. Can honestly say mentally I feel great. It's like a fog has lifted from my brain and I can function again. I must have been in that dazed, pain induced mental fog for years and years and never realised it. Physically I'm getting my energy back and working and walking and nearly doing totally normal activities. I'm still getting exhausted and feel sore if I do too much. Guess it's just my body telling me what I'm capable of ! Excessive lifting, pulling, twisting, running a jumping still doesn't like me. I'm itching to get back on my bike and go for a big ride, but feeling apprehensive. Menopause hasn't been too much of a drama. Wondering if it will get worse or if what I have is as bad as it gets?? Few hot flushes a couple of times a day, will wake hot about 3:30am and kick off the blankets but that is about it. All in all I'm so glad it's done!!

So glad to hear you are doing well. I am also nearly nine weeks post op and feeling great. Like you, I still feel a bit achy if I do too much but otherwise I am pain free. I am taking HRT (I am only 36 so gynae said I really had to take it) and have had no menopausal symptoms at all. I am back to a normal level of activity. It's early days but I am so glad I went ahead and got a total hysterectomy. Hopefully all our problems are now behind us. xx
