In 2002 I had a femoral DVT (I had not been on a long haul flight). Warfarin was prescribed for 6 months. After this period test were carried out to determine the cause. I was told I have Thrombophilia (prothombin 20210) and have been put on warfarin for life.Thankfully since taking warfarin I no longer suffer from migraine. Is this condition the same as Hughes syndrom?

.

Thank you

Hi Joyce

No they are different conditions. You would need to be tested for antiphospholipid antibodies to find out for sure but as you are on warfarin, they wouldn't be able to carry out all of the tests on you. There is a very good, and quite technical, website called Lifeblood which comprehensively explains all types of blood conditions.
