Unstable INR and covid

I have had a diagnosis of APS for 25 years and apart from a few minor flareups, I have managed the condition well. I take warfarin and need to keep my INR between 3.0-is 4.0 which is normally stable. As Corona virus numbers were rising in the uk, I suspected that I may have had covid 19 earlier this year.

Since that time , it has been difficult to stabilize my INR and I initially thought this was due to a change in diet ect during lock down. However I have been unable to obtain a antibody test to verify my suspicions and wondered if any other APS people are struggling to maintain a stable INR during this pandemic? as i suspect there may be a link.

Certainly a few people I know have mentioned it in passing, it might be worth dropping your consultant and GP an email to ask their opinion? MaryF

Thought I was going mad. I too suspected I had covid November before last. Ever since my one has been awful with bloods being taken twice weekly for nearly a year now. Think I’ll discuss with go n consultant in January. Everyone have a lovely Christmas xx

Since the start of the pandemic my INR has been all over the place but have no clue as to why. Don't believe I have had covid but just felt unwell generally and put this down to unstable INR.

I hadn't considered this. I have only been on warfarin since 2018 but by the end of 2019 my INR had stabilised and was looking good. I caught covid in March this year (confirmed by test) and ever since my INR has been all over the place. Really high then really low. I couldn't think of any reason as my diet hadn't changed that much. It appears to have just about stabilised again and I don't need to go back for 3 weeks. 🤞

Interesting. As my INR has been crazy. Always stable!! I had a sore throat, muscle pain, sores in month. Sinus drainage.. then my daughter got sick.( same symptoms)Then another daughter had decreased sense of taste. I guess we should have gotten tested. It’s been 2 weeks or so. No fever Only place I could have been exposed is dr appointments. We don’t go anywhere. Homeschool.
