Monday 1-7-19 8:45 I go back to Granite State pain for my second round of Medial Branch Injections -
In November 19 TH i had C-2 ,C-3 and C-4 done to try to enable me to turn my head to the left , { I haven't been able to do this for years , } when I try to turn my head it just stops ,and if i force it to work it binds - then SNAPS and I get shooting pain up my neck clear to the top of my skull. They discovered that i have bone spurs called Kissing Ostophites where C-3 has one that look similar to a Hersey Kiss that is on bottom Right side of disk and then C-4 has one on top right side pointing up . I have told them for years that i have this sticking problem and when i force it to turn my head to left it is a BONE on BONE sound and feeling -- WELL now they know i was correct . these injections are suppose to lift up the disks so they don't hit { THIS IS THE PLAN } . So far the first injections didn't work= still pain , can't turn head to left - and pain in left side of neck that travels down my neck left side and then down back to shoulder blade. so lifting C-2,3,4, din't do the trick C 5 6 and maybe 7 might do it BUT if it doesn't surgery would be next option - I am an 80% risk factor just walking into the office, so it would take ALL of what I call my top 7 heavy hitters . These are the doc's that talk all the time and they ALL would have to go along with it what i think from past experiences this wouldn't happen, I have had doc's try less evasive procedures tried and 2 of the Doc's Stopped them dead in their tracks and my Rheumy who sent me to this other specialist was the very one that said NO immediately . So I don't see that happening at this point anyways. So fingers = legs = ears = eye's and thoughts crossed that this procedure tomorrow works. Has any one else had or know of anyone that has Kissing Osteophites and maybe what they did or didn't do ?? Any idea's would help .Doc did mention Therapy BUT i am in Therapy now for left elbow and when i bounced the neck deal to him he just said he wouldn't see it helping that because of the bone on bone .0 we aren't done yet my toe is swelling up , Right big toe and we have no idea why , it just gives out when i am walking and i just about did a nose dive when this happens -we are still working on that , they just did x rays but no breaks or sprang -we were going to try tapping big toe to adjoining toe but my orthotic's won't allow that because each toe has a spot in the orthotic so one toe would be out of it's spot so when we discussed that ,that was the end of that idea so guess whats next -- you got it THERAPY !! I might as well get a bunk bed there ,my Therapist and i got a laugh about that , just move right in . I think i am like the Scare Crow in the " Wizard of OZ just parts of me going every where LOL !! well all my crossing and your crossing it has been working so far - i am home now but i have to stay here till i start getting calls from the Doc's involved.should be soon
I am noticing today Tues.that upper left of neck pain is back and i use to get TPI for that and when first injection done on 29th of Nov. they went away. Now when all thus tarted with neck it years back it started on right side and that stopped and started on left with much more intensity ??? how weird is that - But i a getting tenderness on right side this morning NOW I have stayed off of one of my pain meds yesterday to be able to evaluate pain better as the days go forward- last time Doc gave me a chart a hour by hour and then day to day up to a week . he didn't give me one this time , i think he forgot so i will fill out my own .I think there is a chance that some of these issue's could work themselves out , at least positive thinking . I will have to go back to full meds today as they are really meant for other body issues that will get worse . he told me that this pain i felt when he did C-5 is because this is the second time he has done this one ?? I thought he did C -2-3-4 - gosh i was surprised at that he said it was C-3 ,4, 5 or i got my wires crossed . But today starting on back on Enox and Jantoven and pain med. so i should start feeling a bit more normal {if there is such a thing ?? ha humor is helpful .} Thanks Holly

Well Kerstin I am home -my appointment was at 8:45 AM my time - They had or should i say i had a rough go of C-5 because this was in fact the second time Dr.Steve injected this same one. First time was 11-29-18.and that one hurt pretty well , see i don't take any prep shots and it wouldn't of helped much when they are that deep with needle. I forgot my Camera in my truck so i couldn't take pic's this time - first at home before i even left the apartment i forgot to put my Med files in my shoulder black bag and i realized this when i arrived at Dr office parking lot BUT thought i at least have my Camera in the black bag and then got Casey ready and looked down again at the floor at my black bag and thought HMM i don't need that GRRRRR and didn't think of it again till i was getting changed for the injections and there was no time to dress again and go to car and get it . Nurse Penny was so up set that i had forgot it , because while she is observing me she is also getting the room ready for the next patient .which means sending photo's to my file and clearing screen on machine.-last time i didn't even tell the office { like you are suppose to so they can charge for them , i think there was 8 }she just looked at Dr Steve and he gave the NOD and she let me take the pic's i wanted . But i messed the whole thing up -i only slept 1 1/2 hours last night , just didn't feel good and my body some times doesn't like the bridging and the Enox schedule i have been on since 12-31-18 . so tonight i start with #10 jantoven and 120 ml Enox Via syringe in abdominal area sub contagiously till i am up well into my INR range 2.5 to 3.5 and Dr Steve before he left the room said J i hope this does it this time !!
Casey needed a rub this morning he wouldn't eat his breakfast -he just followed me all around the house till i got him in his harness and Service dog leash t head to Doc's office. God it was cold this morning when i took him out first thing when he got up about 4 AM , still dark at that hour . Lions and Tigers and Bears 0 MY .
You know guys I think i will kick back in my recliner, eat chocolate and just relax . Thanks to ONE & ALL- 0 no bleeding at all --still have ORANGE SKIN on back - Only A large round band-aid -that must be the C-5 site if i were to guess- you can't hear well or see anything because my head was down thru a big hole in the bed , i guess to keep spine straight and in line !!
