Allergic reactions-help on finding what is in medications

Recently I saw Dr. Jill Schofield for my APS. She studied under Prof. Hughes & is very knowledgeable. I have been having lots of problems with reactions to medications & supplements. She had me go on a website “Daily Med”. You search for the medication, manufacturer, dosage-it will tell you the active & inactive ingredients. From putting in all the meds I reacted to & the meds I could take, I found that there was a couple of inactive ingredients in the meds I had problems with. This allowed me to find a warfarin I could take. It really works. I broke out with welts & when I looked at the ingredients in a supplement I found that same ingredient. It takes sometime to figure it out but will worth it in the end.

Very useful thank you for posting. I come up in big hives with certain meds so will be using this to see if I can find what it is I’m allergic too. Thanks

Glad I could help. It is a little hard at 1st but once you do a couple it gets easier

Wow that’s great you figured out the ingredient! And I’m glad to hear you had good success with the INR range relieving your symptoms. I’ve tried to figure out what ingredients bother me (using this site), but no luck. Then I looked up the things I take that I don’t have issues with, but it’s all still a big muddle. That site is great. Thanks for posting.

I couldn’t figure it out at first & my husband who is a dr. Couldn’t figure it out. I just kept writing what was the inactive ingredients down of meds I could take & ones I had problems with. Even supplements (they put it on the bottle). I reacted to the cellulose especially the microcrystalline cellulose. This is in quite of few things.

Keep with it it takes time.
