Is ther a natural way i.e. Diet to get your INR up when it goes down . Mine crashed from 4.8 to 2.8 in four days and I don't know why ? Not been seen at London yet so am hoping to go on fragmin as well when this happens . Then I might feel safe flying at the moment I'm too nervous 😩

Hi Amy,

Have you now seen prof Bruce as you wanted badly to change Specialist and has he given you a Clexane or Heparin-shot to take when you are that low. You should have them at home always.

Are you Lupus Anticoagulant because then if might be more difficult to selftest and how often do you test your blood at home?

Do not make too big drug-adjustments as then the INR will get unsteady. If you want the INR up stop the green vegetables until you get the INR in range again. I have found it is easier to get the iNR down fast but to get it up is more difficult. It always take 2 - 3 days to adjust the INR.

Make notes about doses and numbers and food etc as we often forget what we have done.

Best wishes from Kerstin in Stockholm

Hi , self test every other day and it's been pretty good to be honest , I was really shocked this morning so just added another 1 mg warafrin to tonight's dose for the next few days and sent Anne mail to clinic .

Couldn't change consultants 😡But paying privately to go to prof Hughes clinic as soon as I can x

Not a bad idea to get hold of the book that Cath Atkin has written - Eat on Warfarin, which some on here have found very useful. MaryF

Hi, personally I've found that garlic and alcohol raise my inr and dark green veg lower it.

I'm APS positive discovered by a junior consultant following a substantial stroke five years ago. I'm on various drugs including warfarin and my inr range is 3-4.

I'm in the early stages of menopause at 46 years old for which my gp has prescribed antidepressants after checking with my consultant at Guys. Sometimes these seem to work, others according to my husband they definitely don't!

Therefore the wine is a saviour in more ways than one for me!

Good luck,

Tess xx

Better drink the same amount of wine every day. I drink one glass of red wine for dinner each day.
