Hi All, does anyone know if there is a link with low iron to APS or is it long term warfrin use. Husbands iron levels have suddenly dropped only after being told APS they have lost paper work at hospital confirming it and last test showed No APS and if they test again will have to stop warfrin. He has had 3 strokes and another is not welcome.
Iron levels: Hi All, does anyone know... - Hughes Syndrome A...
Iron levels
Hi,
I thought your husband had a Doctor specialized in Hughes Syndrome.
I have never heard of having low Iron levels from Warfarin but I have heard Mary speak of the importance to have the Ferritin level as well as D-vit and B12 quecked rather often.
Antibodies go up and down and I suppose his "Specialist" should have a paper saying he has got Hughes Syndrome/APS and this illness he will have for life and must never ever stop anticoagulation as that would be lifethreatening when he has had 2 strokes already.
Hope the INR is high enough. As prof Hughes is saying it should be at least on an INR of 3.5 or higher. If your "Specialist" is not doing the right things I think you should change to a Doctor who really knows what Hughes syndrome is. That could be very important for your husband.
Best wishes to him and to you from Kerstin in Stockholm
