Hello all,
I am on anticoagulant therapy and intend to test for LAC. I have read over the internet that it might give false positive. If this is true, what should I do as I have an active clot under treatment.
Thanks.

HI this can be the case, however there are three tests so do the others also:
Lupus anticoagulant.
Anti-cardiolipin.
Beta-2 glycoprotein I.
Also give a clear medical history of yourself and any relatives with autoimmune disease, miscarriages/still births, or early heart attacks or strokes.

If you are on Xarelto just wait for 24 hours and it should have cleared.
This is true. I recently saw my heamotologist and he explained they couldn't test for lupus because I was on warfarin which would interfere with the results. Why are you intending to test? - surely your doctor or specialist knows you are on anticoagulants or haven't you told them? A very risky move.
If you must have the test speak to whoever is going to test as they need all your medical history to interpret the results.
