I was diagnosed with this in September.I'm having a flare at the moment and the red patches are REALLY itchy. The steroid cream isn't doing anything. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Lisa

Try an old remedy I was given by a dermatologist for a viral rash I had.

Add 2 tablespoons of sodium bicarbonate powder to a bath and soak. Softens skin and stops itching. Else if small area 1 teaspoon to a large bowl of water (cake making size) and wash area.

I use this for eczema, chicken pox and other unidentified rashes. Works wonders!

Hope you feel better soon.

Hello Holley.

Please could you confirm that you have a diagnosis of APS/Hughes Syndrome. I have to ask you this as this is a forum for APS/Hushes Syndrome patients and not a general medical forum.

Dave,

Yes, I have APS. I've posted on this site before. Was recent;y diagnosed with Schamberg's in August. A lovely new component to the APS.

Thanks Lisa.

Poor you.

Best wishes.

I have had red itchypatches that did not respond to steroid creams....old fashioned(used it 60 years ago for chickenpox!)CALAMINE lotion (not caladryl w/ benadryl ) helped for awhile.....in the end my MD had to prescribe Predisone for a few days....I hate taking oral steroids but the itching became too much....cleared up in a few days......I am VERY CAREFUL to keep skin soft and not to scratch ....I believe in my case

even a tiny scratch ...ie bacteria created alocalized "immune response"...ie red/itchy etc. my own theory
