Getting very anxious now.

Just gone into my 37th week of pregnancy, never thought I'd get this far and hopefully being induced in 10 days time. I received a birth plan through the post from my haemotologist and it's very involved. Having my blood tested for consistency every 3 hours while in labour. It's good I'm being looked after though. They've said it's got to be between certain numbers which doesn't mean much to me as I'm normally not on medication other than aspirin and heparin in pregnancy. Just really hope the baby will be ok! Just want him or her here now safely. I feel like it's been such a long journey!!!!!!

I know it is easier said that done, but you must stay calm, please draw on support of friends and family and do ring up the clinic and explain that you feel like this, they will understand why you do. Also it is fine to come on here and draw on us lot for support, lots of us have been in a similar boat. Best wishes to you. MaryFx

Thank you, it's all into the unknown but I know it will be worth it. The medical people have been good but quite laid back about it all, mainly as the baby has been growing well. It's just the anxiety of what happened before. I do have great family and friends around. I just honestly thought I'd never get to this point. This forum is a great tool for inspiration and support!

Hi

First of all congratulations on reaching 37 weeks, it must put your mind at rest that you're nearly there. As far as all the blood tests are concerned, let the medics worry about them, you just concentrate on staying calm and unstressed for the delivery. I'm sure they've informed you what will happen so that it will not affect your stress or blood pressure levels, and if you are worrying about it, contact your midwife and I'm positive they will talk it through further for you. I knew every step of the way what would happen when I was having my baby, and it went a long way for a stress free birth, in fact the maternity unit said they'd never met someone so chilled out. I was just so excited to be finally having my baby and couldn't wait to meet and cuddle him, that it took over the apprehension I had over what was going on around me. Just keep thinking that in just a few weeks you'll have a much wanted and loved baby, so whatever it takes it's going to be worth it.

Take care and good luck

Lyn

Thanks everyone for your kind words of support. The growth is still good but my blood pressure is slightly up so I've been given my induction date at the beginning of next week. Looking forward to getting on with it now. Good luck to all the other mums to be on here... It sounds like you're all doing well. Thank goodness for modern medicine! Will update with the outcome x

You have done well & you are on the home stretch. If the baby was born right now it would be fine. The important thing is to take care of yourself so you can enjoy that bundle of joy. Best of luck! Keep us posted. Designer16
