Splinter Haemorrhages in fingers?

Last year when Derek had his CAPS event, he suffered multiple splinter heamorrhages under all finger nails. I suspect it was part of what lead to his diagnosis, and life saving intervention.

Anyway, back to the question.

2 months ago we noticed Derek was starting to tire more easily than he had in the past (his recovery from CAPS was going well considering Adrenal Insufficiency. The thing is, when waiting for his INR in August, I noticed the re apparence of the splinter heamorrhages, just in his thumbs. According to what I can find out, in APS, the reported incidence occurres "concomitantly with thrombotic events of diverse arterial sites". This sits with Derek having CAPS a year ago when all fingers had them. Could we be looking at some other issues we are unaware of?

Has anyone else had this issue and can say what caused it? His INR seems reasonably stable, 2.7, 3.0, 3.2, 2.9 over the last few months. He is on 12-13mg/day depending on which day of the week it is.

My biggest concern is that he was doing so well until around July. Now his blood pressure is all over the place, he complains of a headache whenever he stands up for a period of time, and he is finding it harder and harder to do our walk we do each week. His Physio won't let him do anything until he has had a full check up, and we are waiting for a raft of blood tests to come back.

I have just looked up some notes I had made in August and have found that he suffered:

Blood pressure had started playing up

Stomach upset

Indigestion

Splinter haemorrhages

Rash on neck, and other areas

All within a week.

Thanks for your help.

I am top_hole, I had splinter heamorages over 20 years ago, before they dicovered I have a.p.s. because I had a t.i.a. They were very painful and I found soaking my fingers in warm water, and taking asprin helped. Two g.p.s were fascinated but had no idea what it was. Since I was put on warfarin unless the i.n.r. gets very low. I never get them now.
