I've read in a few posts to change your diet but how exactly? What should be restricted?

I've cut out sugar during the day, I used to drink about 2-3 bottles of cola a day and now I have limited myself to one. I've also started watching what I eat more due to the abscesses/boils coming up.

I have restricted loads, refined sugars, yeast, wheat, gluten, nightshades, dairy all of which has helped, also lost 3:5 stone in weight, also I use cordial silver gel on the boils and it helps reduce inflammation, I have one Epsom bath a week as more than that increases the inflammation. This once a week helps dry them up and rest of week I shower in Hibiwash and one cap of detol. I am also trialling metformin tablets and I have monthly flare ups, hormonal..

Hello. Do some research in the the 'autoimmune protocol' and hidradenitis. You'll find a lot of advice and guidance and even stories of people putting their HS into remission.

I've been AIP for nearly a month. I feel more in control of the HS than I ever have.

I have found for myself the following triggers are nuts, cola, chocolate, caffeine, and dairy at times. I eat them here and there but in very small moderation. I know my limit! I was considering AIP diet for a moment but never got around to it. Check Pinterest out for recipes. Good luck to you!

And I frequent nuts and caffeine (from coffee) and yogurt. I cut out cola 4 months ago. I will work on eliminating your suggestions. Thank you.

Welcome, hope it helps. My gynecologist specialize in HS and infectious diseases..We spoke about regular triggers such as tight clothing, clothing dye, certain detergents and soap, decreased stress, weight loss, increased sweating and exercise, she prescribed Nystatin powder to apply to increased moisture areas. Clindamycin lotion, and doxycycline antibiotics to use when needed. I was already using chloroxylenol soap. Hope that was helpful!
