hey guys, i have a friend who has this illness, and we live in france and in france they don't really give an advise or medicine to help her out .... and we were just wondering if anyone has any tips to help calm it down or keep it under control.. how to care for it ect... thanks

Hi! I'm French and I have HS (maladie de vermeil in fr). I can help with this. You have to go to the best specialist in Paris professor Revuz metro La Muette. He is the best. Depending on the stage of the disease he will put you on the antibiotics called Rifadine 300 twice a day as well as Dalacine 300 twice a day. He can also start you with a daily injection in the bottom area called Ceftriaxone 1g/3.5 ml. This needs to be done by a nurse for a month. It's painful but at least it will reduce and help a lot. This is what he started me on and then I moved to the above antibiotics. Even the GP can give you that. The thing to do now is to apply alcohol on swap (compresses) and tape them on the abscesses to reduce the swellings. Keep doing it constantly and you will see a difference in a few days. Wash with savon de Marseille and nothing else and dry the area with a hairdryer. Do not puck or touch or neither try to squeeze the puss it will make it worse. Have some painkillers as well! I'm on stage 3 which is the worst one. The other thing is that you need a good surgeon I know a very good one. Try not to go to anyone but in France you can't help it especially in hospitals. Hi there's no cure for sure but at least you can do a few things to limit it and try to leave with it. I was in the same mental state as you and my life was wasted. But I changed, this disease is not going to ruin my life and my kids life. I already wasted 10 years! Enough is enough.

Hi as I mentioned you have to be on the right medication and you need to find a surgeon specialised in hs. Because at one stage only a drastic surgery with a removal of the whole affected skin is necessary ! Because otherwise it will keep coming back and coming back again. You also have to manage your stress levels. Since I have been going to see a psychologist it helped me so much before that I never believed in all that. I'm can assure you that I know now how to avoid situations where I know it will cause me stress and find myself with abscesses. Because it's undeniable that stress of any kind will trigger hs. Stop thinking about it and living around it! Follow the tricks that I gave earlier. Do relaxing stuff for yourself steam room sauna massage mental well-being !! If you see a black head in the area do not touch It! You have to try to be positive it's hard but you have to program your brain again because your brain is so use to you being sick in pain in bed and depressed ! Believe me it's hard work but you have to want it. You have to change your routine. I had over 40 operations and I had enough of not being able to do anything with my kids and always in bed in pain. You have also to understand your body and listen to it.

I understand wat you mean but howdo you go about finding a surgeon that specializes in hs the doctors dontwant to touch you and act like there paying for you with there own.money and medication doesn't help I choose not to be a guinea pig unless its a medication that will help me an ive taken many that do nothing this has ruined my life I can no longer work cant go on holidays with my kids incase it flares up I feel like giving up no one helps not even my dermatologist as they have no idea whatto actually do except keep reminding me they dont have no cure

Ask them to give you rifampicine 300mg twice a day as well as clindamycine 300 twice a day as well. If you don't insist at the end of the day it's your body and you will be suffering. Go on the Internet and you will see about these medications. I tried so many before that didn't work but these do. A dermatologist not specialised in hs won't have a clue. Also do not go swimming in stagning waters. Only in the sea. Do not have baths! I'm giving you tricks as I go along. In which area is your hs?
