What do I do next?

I have had a formal diagnosis for my 5yo boy, and was told by the psychiatrist that CAMHS will pick up his case. I phoned them to make an appointment just to be told they 'don't deal with that as it's not severe enough' despite regular violent outbursts. Any advice on where to go next would be much appreciated!

What utter rubbish. Get your Psychiatrist or GP to make a referral to CAMHS.

Make sure you get an urgent referral, Anxiety is off the scale if it's PDA.

Sadly not all areas will accept the condition. It's a case of a private diagnose at £3,000. You can get PDA on its own or you can have both.

National Autistic Society recognise the condition. Most of our CAMHS are poor, being polite.

Have a look to see if any of the Comorbid issues apply. That gave me the first clue, look at the bigger picture

Parents are 95% correct. Hang on in there, you are doing a fantastic job.
