EARLY HIV TESTING?

I had an unprotected encounter back in 28th of November and 14th of December. I'm a Top bisexual man, and both of my encounters are men. I had a panic attack because I thought that I had chlamydia or syphilis and I had my blood drew on 21st of December and it got tested on the 23rd of December and finalized on the 26th of December. I got my results on the 7th of January. All are negative (chlamydia, syphilis, hepatitis, hiv). I think that it was too early for the 14th of December encounter.

Was it too early for me to have my blood tested? I scheduled for another one on the 17th of January.

The test that they did I believe is a 4th gen test. I think it is the standard in the EU? I live in Spain.

Hi , I think the general recommendation is to test for HIV 12 weeks after exposure to be certain of test results . 12 weeks is also the time lapse required for syphilis and hepatitis . Chlamydia and gonorrhoea can be detected after two weeks . HIV is not that easy to catch and there is less risk for a top than a bottom , so best plan is not to worry and sit out the 12 weeks and then test .
