Gilead Sciences has reached a deal with several generic drugmakers to produce a cheaper version of its popular, $1,000-per-pill hepatitis C drug Sovaldi for use in developing countries. Gilead's agreement also covers another treatment, a single tablet combination of sofosbuvir and another antiviral drug, ledipasvir. Regulators in both the United States and Europe are currently reviewing that combination.

HI JK I have looked at this post a few times unsure how to respond fr 2 reasons -new treatments should be welcomed with caution and 2) have been reading about the relationship between drugs and the effects on the liver, if too many are taken. Living with A BI means I get prescribed anti-depressants too often and they keep changing which one I should take. With a blood disorder also,Now I am dealing with more mri's and blood tests, still don't know if its viral hep or liver cirrhosis, fortunately cancer and alcohol were ruled out, but I was given blood pressure tabs, to take when I am on Kardegic (powder form of Aspirin) and Betahistine - all taken daily along with Thyroxine [approx 10years). Before that was put on metformine in 2009/10 which can have know spleen side effects - responsible for blood cells - is that where my blood disorder comes from!
So one now wonders about new drugs?
