I wouldn't be overly concerned, I have a wife and six children who I married after my initial discovery that I had the dragon, my wife was tested and all my children were tested because they all came along after I found out I had it also, and they are all negative for hcv. The new treatments are so mild and are all very effective. But as far as your other problems you should go to a gastrointestinal doctor to address them and from there the liver clinic. Don't despair there is help just take it easy and take it one day at a time. Stay positive and looking ahead to when this disease will be gone from your body good bless and I'll pray for you and your son to be cure,

That is my experience too. I had to have four children tested and I had had the virus for thirteen years unknowingly, living along side them. None of them had the virus. I was pretty sure I caught it at least before the last one was born and he was negative. It was nerve wracking at the time but all turned out ok. I have heard other mothers say that their children turned out to be negative too.

If your last hepc treatment was too harsh for you perhaps you will qualify for something like Harvoni on its own, without Ribavarin. Many people say it has little side effects and is only one pill a day.

I had Viekira Pak with Ribavarin and it was quite poleaxing at times and got very difficult towards the end. But somehow I did finish and am now hepc free. So don't give up hope. Things can turn round greatly for the better.

I also had gastritis for four years, which made me lose a stone twice as I couldn't digest my food or hardly eat some days. Conventional medicine did not help but a food supplement called Pepsin Gi did.It is zinc plus l-carnosine. And now my stomach lining has healed. You need to research all ways of getting rid of your bacterial problem. Conventional or otherwise. The internet is a great place for that. Stay positive. And look for ways of helping yourself.

Also the telephone helpline at the Hep C trust could be a good place for you to find support. I will look it up and put it in another reply. Good luck.

Hi there, that sounds like you have a lot to put up with. As regards treatment for hepc ...people seem to get different treatments depending on which area of the country they live in, and also that which is cheapest at the time and it also depends on which genotype you have. Because I had already been treated unsucessfully many years ago, I had to have ribavarin with any other drug that I got as I was reckoned to be more resistant to treatment. Same applies I think if you have cirrhosis. Some people get Viekira on its own, which is not meant to have a lot of side effects. I know someone in the SW who did Zepatier recently without side effects.

I know I couldn't have tolerated treatment if I had still been ill with stomach problems ,so I think you need to sort that first.

You also need to ask a specialist liver nurse or your consultant about having another treatment that you can tolerate. My liver nurse said she would have tried to get harvoni for me if I hadn't been able to get through what I was on.

Good luck. Don't give up hope. Just keep working towards getting yourself healthy.

The Treatment can test your resolve thats for sure!...you have come this far so very soon you will be all clear! The Helicobactor Pylora is causing the symptoms you describe but although its very uncomfortable stick with it and you will come out CLEAN at the end! A feeling well worth some discomfort! Let me know how its going!
