Hi everyone,

Just wondering if there is anyone else on here that is genotype 3a, treatment experienced, with cirrhosis?

I'm hesitant about the other drugs- and I will still have to take ribavirin. (Yuck)

I've been living. With this condition for 20 Years.

Treatment can't come quickly enough.

My friend John had 3a, same as what I have. Apparently it's not the worse case scenario,in fact the opposite. John has finished his treatment and he looks like a new man. My treatment starts next month, June. I can't wait !!!! And hope its as good for me as it has been for John.

Best Wishes, Phil.

Hi both me and my friend are gnome 3a , she started treatment 2 days ago ribavirin, sofosbuvir and daclotasvir, like you couldn't wait for treatment to start as she has been very ill, we are in kent we heve been trying every supplement and new idea i could find out about. Found the lack of information from the medical world really frustrating but theliver nurse i have got now is brilliant, we have had the virus for 25yrs approx also my friend drank heavily until she found out about the hep c . Best Wishes hang on in there.xx

Hi Stephanie,

I am also Hep-C 3A. I have had meds. In 2014 I was put onto Solvadi, Ribavirin there was no change in the virus so they added Interferon. So for the first 3 months just two meds and then they add the Interferon to be taken along with the other meds for 3 more months. This was very difficult to do everyday. It did not take care of the virus so now I am waiting to get the new drug as it apparently can take care of all kinds of Hep-C. I also have a liver affected by Cirrhosis. They have found makers so they are wanting to treat the makers. I totally get where you are at when you say treatment can't happen quick enough. The doctors believe I was infected in the '80,s. As this is when the tainted blood was happening. So for me I have had this illness for over 30 years. I would do the new meds again. It could be the answer.

Hi Stephanie I did the old riba inter in 2007 with advanced cirrhosis, my geno was 1. What level of cirrhosis have you been diagnosed with? Are the liver tests abnormal? Is the liver unit recommending you start treatment? All this goes in the mix, also remember you can quit, I failed twice and succeeded even though I quit at 6 months. The treatment journey is very soft now and if you are offered it it is best to take it. With the old school stuff we have often recommended waiting.
