Harvoni / Ribovirin 12 week course fairly easy to deal with, but added to fatigue I already had, but improved as treatment progressed . I had Hep C for 30 years without knowing, until my health deteriorated 4 years ago, and was eventually diagnosed. Tried on Interferon / Ribovirin for a month, non responder. Was prescribed Harvoni / Ribovirin after liver scan showed enough damage to liver to warrant such expensive treatment. Huge thanks to all the nurses and staff at MRI , I couldn't have asked for better treatment.

I was treated 8 weeks with Harvoni and 6 months later the Hep C was back. Now i am on Epclusa for 12 weeks . I am on my second month all seems ok other than headaches from time to time.

I was treated in 2001 with what then was called "Rebatron" which, was a combination of Interferon and anti viral capsules. After 7 months, I was removed from treatment because the viral load was not lowering a all.

I then in 2004, reapplied to "Pharmanet" the governing body of our health care system here in B.C. Canada. However, after going for a second liver biopsy which showed progression on the "Ishak scale" which measures the cells in the liver and determines its health. In 2001 I had gone from 5/24 then, in 2004, 9/24. Currently I live with Hepatitis C geno type 1a and I'm not considered here in British Columbia, who is a patient, "Patient Naive" meaning that I had treatment already and did not repsond.

Today, my liver alt level is in normal range at this time, my iron levels have finally normalized and my viral load is at 400,000 u/l. So for now, the virus is at least subsided some. However, it is still present in my body and I experience a myriad of symptoms, fatigue, joint pain, broken sleep, brain fog, and depression. I also know that the longer the virus remains in my body, other organs and the neurological system is also at risk.

I'd be open to treatment, yet where I live, there is a lot bureaucracy around "certain criteria", One needs to meet to receive treatment. Those like myself, are left in a waiting game, if I develop cirrhosis, I'll be treated right away. So, being that I'm kind of last in line due to being treated already and my Geno type 1a diagnoses, and the cost of the treatment too, as well right now my number are o.k. Although, Once again as we know the longer Hep C is present, damage is also being done to other organs too, However, I can understand the System too, it is right now so over taxed here right , and the outrageous cost of Treatment that big pharma is controlling, it is no wonder the government will not fund a treatment for a longer stretch due to the geno type 1a I have.

So, one is left in a kind of limbo, trying to live and function, while at the same time feeling more and more I'll. Now at 53, I wait for my counts to eventually go through an upward swing again and hope that then, treatment many be there for me.

I took Daklinza and Sovaldi for my geno type 3 for 6 months. First treatment contracted 30plus years ago..No Declenza nontectable since 30 days in Now trying to deal with Cirrohisis..stage 4 ugh......clean and sober 20 years Good luck to all..

Did you have any side effects when on the medication if so could you tell me about them as i am on the same treatment.

In 1962Nov...about a week before Xmas break I had to be sent to the nurse's office because I (a) groaned out loud at how unwell I was feeling but mostly because for the first time in my brief but eventful life that far, I could not figure out, to save my life, how to solve simple Grade 7 math (algebra). A simple equation of, e.g., x = 2(3 + 2). Isn't this easy-peasy? It's the type of "skill-testing question"...or part thereof...which I answer frequently nowadays whenever I see a contest that I would like to WIN!
